This incarnation is known as the VOORDOMS, NOT the Boredoms as misleadingly placed by the emptybottle. Yamantanka from the Boredoms is in the band but the set will only conisist of him and 3 drummers, that is it. No Bass player, no guitarist, no nothing. THE BOREDOMS are indeed playing on Saturday evening, and will be lead by BOREDOMS founder YAMATSUKA EYE. (Also known as YAMANTAKA EYE, YAMATAKA EYE and then, well, sometimes, eYe.) There are eight persons total traveling with the group, and while the set will indeed include EYE on cd mixers, keyboards, mixers, and turntables playing alongside three drummers, the backline we’ve secured them also includes Korgs and bass cabinets. This is the current (and only) incarnation of THE BOREDOMS, and is one hundred percent the ‘real deal’. Um, anyone that knows 'anything' about the Boredoms would know that this incarnation is indeed called the Vooredoms and NOT the Boredoms. I've caught this act once in England and once in CA. I've just seen the show they played at the knitting factory in LA and it is DEFINITELY the Vooredoms line up. They've been playing as the Vooredoms for approx. only a few years as the guitarist Yamamoto had left the band and the Bass player has also gone into dedicating time to his own band. It isn't THE BOREDOMS playing this Saturday unless the Empty Bottle managed to pull a miracle and reunite the band! If you are at all expecting theBOREDOMS that played to rare sold out Chicago Metro shows years back in '99 or '92 you are going to be greatly disappointed! THAT was the Boredoms. At this show you WILL NOT hear any songs off 'BOREDOMS' albums at all. This will be your proof dumbasses. Instead you will hear the Boredoms sideproject Vooredoms, 3 drummers slapping the skins in tribal unison (one of which is yoshimi from the Boredoms). Big Difference. In all his interviews Eye has continuously stated that the Vooredoms is a side project. That isn't to say that the show should be abandoned, but you should cut out the lame deception or ignorant 'apparent knowledge'.
