We are located at the corner of Western and Cortez in Chicago, three blocks south of Division and just north of Augusta. The Empty Bottle is most easily accessible from Interstate 90/94 (The Kennedy Expressway).



 
Take Interstate 94 to the northern approach of Chicago. Don't bother looking for exits until you can see the skyline. Find Division and proceed West (right turn) until Western Avenue. Turn left on Western (travelling South) until you find 1035 N. Western (three blocks). The Empty Bottle will be on the left side of the street. Our Old Style sign is spray-painted, and the canopy promises dancing, friendly dancing.
  
   
 
Approach Chicago from either I-57 or I-55.
From I-57: Follow I-57 until it merges with I-94 West (The Dan Ryan Expwy.) Follow the Ryan into downtown, and once past the obvious skyline, exit at the Division St. exit. Proceed West (left turn) until Western Avenue. Turn left on Western (travelling South) until you find 1035 N. Western (three blocks). The Empty Bottle will be on the left side of the street.
From I-55: Take I-55 until its interchange with 90/94. You want 90/94 West. Follow into downtown, and once past the obvious skyline, exit at the Division St. exit. Proceed West (left turn) until Western Avenue. Turn left on Western (travelling South) until you find 1035 N. Western (three blocks). The Empty Bottle will be on the left side of the street.
 
   


 
Approaches can include I-65 (from Indianapolis), or The Indiana Toll Road (from points East). Proceed Westbound until you see the interchange for The Chicago Skyway. Prepare your $1.75 toll for this very underutilized and fast road and take it across the Indiana border and into Chicago proper. Get on the I-90/94 West freeway (The Dan Ryan Expressway) and proceed through the length of the South Side of Chicago. Continue into the downtown skyline, and once through it, follow the Ryan and exit at the Division St. exit. Go west (left turn) until Western Avenue. Turn left on Western (travelling South) until you find 1035 N. Western (three blocks). The Empty Bottle will be on the left side of the street.
  
   
 
Approach Chicago via Interstate 88, which will morph into 290 East. Follow 290 East (AKA The Eisenhower Expressway) until you see the offramps for 90/94. You want the "Kennedy" expressway (90/94 West) and NOT the "Dan Ryan" Expressway (90/94 East.) Get onto the Kennedy and once there, get into your right-hand lane. Fairly quickly you will see the exit for Division Street. Get off there and head west (left turn) until you get to Western Avenue. Turn left on Western (travelling south) until you find 1035 N. Western (three blocks). The Empty Bottle will be on the left side of the street.

If you're around Evanston do this: Take the el south to Clark/Division Take the #70 bus west to Western Walk 1.5 blocks south to the bar. Easy!

If you're near Hyde Park, do this: Take the 59th St. bus east to 56th and Dan Ryan. Take the Dan Ryan el north to Clark/Division. Take the #70 bus west to Western Walk 1.5 blocks south to the bar. Easy!

If you are hanging out in the Gold Coast shopping: Take the #70 (Division) bus west to Western Walk 1.5 blocks south to the bar. Easy!
